I moment i was chased in Myanmar

We were walking down a quiet road, the type of quiet road where tourists like myself would not adventure out too even in my own country. As someone who loves exploring every unique aspect of cities and venturing away from the usual tourist destinations, I proceed down this unusually quiet street.

With my camera gripped in my hand and my partner in front of me. I stopped and saw a large government looking building with a guard sitting as watch, behind a large steel post fence.

I walked up to the fence and smiled at the guard trying to use some form of sign language to hint that I was going to take a photo of him. He nodded and smiled. That was enough confirmation for me to get closer to the fence and take a photo.

Thinking that “this is going to be a perfect photo”, I proceeded to put my camera through the steel fence and snap a quick photo. As I pressed the shutter button, I heard a large bark. It startled me and caused me to take a blurry photo

I knew it was time to make my move. As I walked back to meet with my partner who was at least 20 metres ahead of me, I saw a large pack of street dogs behind the fence (most likely guard dogs). Thinking to myself “She’ll be right“, I’m joking.. I actually thought to myself that “It should be fine, there’s a massive 7ft tall fence between me and the dogs”. I decided to walk off casually and ignore the barking dogs.

Feeling safe, I started walking at my normal pace and as I quickly glanced at the dogs. The dogs found a larger enough hole in the fence for them to jump through. Before I knew it, each dog was coming out of the fence 1 by 1, in an orchestrated/organised manner, it’s like they’ve done this before.

By now these dogs haven’t calm down and are now barking at me in a row, following my every move as I proceed to hurry away from them

I shout to my partner, “Hey, HEY. HEY!! Help me!! What do I do?“, she responded “Just don’t look at the dogs, ignore them and keep walking straight“. By this time, I was sweating, my palms, knees, everywhere, you could imagine what was going through my head. “BREAKING NEWS: Silly Aussie tourist get’s attacked by a pack of dogs after taking a photo“ or “Me in hospital with rabies after getting bitten by these dogs“.

I decided to listen to her advice and proceed to perform the fastest power walk/run in history, a run that looked just like a scene from Looney Tunes or Tom and Jerry. Or better yet, like this scene from One Piece:

My legs and arms were moving at the speed of light but my torso and neck was as straight as a ruler! After 100 metres of this I turned back to see that all the dogs had turned around and walked back. I was safe. But now drenched head to toe in sweat.

After the ordeal, I laughed it off and decided to end the day at the Shwedagon pagoda. A way of celebrating my escape from quite a close near death experience.

Bloggin' Virgin

Out of all the people in the world, I wouldn't of guessed that I'd be the one who would start writing a blog. But hey, what have I got to lose? (Maybe my self respect).

As the title states, I am a bit of a virgin when it comes to blogging. I've always wanted to jump right in and do it, but I didn't expect it to actually happen!! You know how most would say, "hey.. this year... is my year and I'm going to stop eating junk food and be healthy" and it never actually happens? Well, that's how I thought blogging would be for me.

A bit about myself, usually I'm quite a secretive person, some may say? I'm definitely not the type to be open about my personal/social life on social media. This is definitely something out of my comfort zone but... as I'm writing this, I'm starting to enjoy this experience!

What can you expect from this blog? Well to be honest, many things and I really mean it. Just a bit of warning, I'm quite the spontaneous person. But to make it easier for you all, the main content I'll be bloggin' about is basically my daily life, photography, random fun rants & some cool automotive goodies.

So, please tag along this journey with me and let's all have fun during this whole process!
